COMFORTABILITY AGAINST THE STABILITY Is it still recession? Or we are the ones who are already making our own crisis? Since 2008 when large companies started turning over for the worse and thousands of people were shed off from their jobs, finding a job just became even harder. The domino effect has been really at large. At first, companies started fishing for newly grads and local people to avoid paying hefty budgets for visa, air tickets and foreign wages (government localization program). Second, they prefer beginners rather than well experienced professionals to avoid paying them higher and so as the benefits—especially the family ones. During the times of crisis, selected companies in the areas of legal, accountancy, auditing and resourcing agencies benefited from these age, they have to audit the losing liabilities and assets of large companies, being audited by the government and federal agents and legal firms to tackle the tax issues and corruption. Some executives and high ranking positions even got surprised when the solid ground that they were standing crumbled down. Finding a job nowadays is like finding a needle in a haystack. Recruitment companies, agents and officers will play DemiGods for you to get the job that they have posted. Several articles been released on how to win the interview, how to get your CV noticed, how to do this and that… at the end of the day, even if you have already finished all the degrees in the university and you are not experienced or qualified or lucky to have it, it doesn’t make any sense or it doesn’t make any difference. The never ending argument over the education that one must have Masteral degree or PhD to qualify for a certain position with a discreet junior pay is much of a stereotype. How many successful and well known people who didn’t even finished up their college to land where they are or where they’ve been and known for? One’s ability and talent and zeal into climbing up the ladder to success cannot be measured through your diploma or degree. It all lies in your perseverance, endurance, enthusiasm and patience to strive. Nowadays, since that getting a job is even harder than planting a seed to grow, well experienced and small capital investors who wants to make a difference in the business world offers the flexibility of online jobs or homebased jobs in whatever field it is, businesswise, it also saves from registering their employees under the department of labor, saves them tax and other governmental fees. How flexible is the online job? You got the chance to work at your own pace, doesn’t have to take the office politics and favoritism, you don’t have to be your boss’ pet and most of all you don’t have to pay and pray recruiters to notice your “boring” resume. Pay is by the hour and you will get your wage every week transferred into your bank account or paypal. Not just that, if you’re working in a normal company, holding off a traditional job you have to juggle your 8-hour shift into another 4-hour shift for your second job. Unlike with the online job, you will schedule your own time, work and sit in front of your computer and once your time is over, you can either look for a new online job or work on another existing one outside your turf. But how safe is it? There’s always a question of doubt, whether will you get paid after you’re done with the hardwork. Will you get entangled with a sleazy client and refuse to pay your work when they don’t like it? That’s why it is better to sign up with a website that dispatches online jobs with an escrow or deposit such as the following:
These sites secure the payment of their freelance against the clients and they also secure the payment of the clients to the freelancers. Other large companies like sykes, convergys and other large customer service and call center companies have their own policies for work at home people and how they schedule their pay and measure them. The disadvantage of working as homebased, banks and other financial institutions doesn’t really recognize these as a stable income resource; unlike that when you are working with a traditional company, they could be rest assured that you are included in a payroll and will be receiving a monthly salary. But the only advantage of it is that you don’t have to pay for your gas or squeeze yourself into a public transportation such as buses or trains, you don’t have to queue for long just to get a ticket or wake up early to beat the morning rush, you don’t have to try to get along with a nasty colleague that treats you like a scourbrush or fight with the HR why they deducted your payslip over your late arrival in the office. You don’t have to file for a leave just to spend time with your family or you don’t have to miss their birthdays or graduation while being burdened inside the office. Why is it that a lot of people are turning into homebased jobs even though it is not stable? Even the traditional ones are not stable as well, they will hire you today, tomorrow they will fire you, because their reason is “we got a lot of choices and a lot of people needed a job” leaving you walking along the boulevard of the business hub in the city with resume tucked into your arm and ending the day without anything but your sweat and disappointment. Whatever job you do or choose to do, it is all up to you how to make it last and established. But one thing last, we have to learn from the tragedy of the recession that nothing is for certain and nothing is solid.
